Balfes brunch at The Westbury Hotel is one of the best in Dublin. Whether you’re living local or further afield, get yourself to Balfes regardless because you are in for a TREAT!
Recently I met up for a bite to eat and a chat with Sophie. I kicked things off with an Americano to start because, well, do you know me at all!?!
We both also ordered the Tumeric, Ginger and Lemon shot which we love. Whenever I’m at Balfes (usually with Sophie!) I get this – to say it packs a punch is an understatement – be warned!
After trawling through their menu, which, although not extensive, is littered with the current in-vogue breakfast orders, we ordered.
First to arrive was freshly squeezed orange juice (when Sophie and I meet up, there are generally LOTS of drinks bought!)
Soph went for scrambled eggs with bacon and doorstop bread and I went for…can you guess?
That’s right! Poached eggs, bacon and doorstop bread
A breakfast of champions!!
After gobbling up our delicious breakfasts and nattering away, we realised the nattering wasn’t quite done, so we opted for tea (I told you – we order ALLLL the drinks!)
Peppermint for us both
After a time we suddenly found ourselves to be in the very great position that the restaurant had clicked from Breakfast hours into Lunch hours. Which, dear reader meant there was suddenly a dessert element available±
…..well it’d be rude not to so…..
I ordered mixed berries with champagne sabayon – delish! And Sophie went for
Praline parfait, poppy seed croquant, poached pear and….
baileys ice cream – NOM! It was all mighty yum indeed.
As always, we were looked after incredibly well (which is why we are both repeat Balfes customers!) and left with happy tummies and big smiles.
Should you be interested in trying Balfes out for yourself, you can find it in Dublin at the Westbury Hotel
Right near the Phil Lynott statue – grab a table outside if it’s warm enough this weekend, you’ll love it – enjoy!

Thanks for sharing! Your blog makes me want to move to Dublin! Iām all about drinks too. I love tea, but I drink Iced Tea. Preferably black , sweet and strong.
