We are not going to be discussing “resolutions” here, because honestly, you’re basically telling your brain, “don’t worry, you can forget about this by like, February, K?!”. I have always been a writer in some guise, when I was 5 my parents gave me a little diary with a bear holding a balloon on the front for my birthday, I remember asking my Mom what I do with it and she explained what a diary was. I know I was 5 because I still have it and I wrote “age 5” on almost every page in the top left hand corner of each entry (no matter how close together the dates were!). Since then, I find I’m more likely to accomplish the things I write down, than the ideas I think I’ll do which are just left floating around in my head. So here are my 19 for 2019 – things I want to focus on, do, experience and accomplish during this next calendar year!
1.) Spend more time with Family
2.) Go on more dates with Himself
3.) Meet up with friends more regularly
4.) Push my career forward by meeting new people within the industry and making connections
5.) Keep track of the happy (blog post on this soon, will link here it when it’s live)
7.) Travel more (a few trips planned already and I cannot wait to share them with you!)
8.) Enrol in a new course (in 2018 I did two, one for acting and one for creative writing and I learnt so much!)
9.) Read more books (I set up a GoodReads goal of 12 books, I’ve already read 2, so at this rate I’ll smash the goal, but I do tend to go through boughts of not reading so who knows!)
10.) Go for a weekend away somewhere new-to-us in Ireland
11.) Create a short film from page to fruition
12.) Book more acting jobs than last year (2018 was my most successful year to date and I want to push 2019 to be even better!)
13.) Become a plant owner (and keep them alive!!)
14.) Have a spa treatment once a month (manicure / hair appointment / facial / massage)
15.) Stop procrastinating (Dental appointments, I’m lookin’ at you!)
16.) Take a self defence class
17.) Look after my skin (drink enough water, moisturise etc… etc…)
18.) Exercise at least three times a week (pre Christmas I was training 5 times a week, but I know this isn’t exactly sustainable all year because life happens! However, 3 times is perfectly accomplishable)
19.) Be as positive about myself to myself, as I am about others to them
