I get a lot of questions about where I get beauty things done since I moved back to Dublin, so I thought it would make much more sense to compile them all into one handy post instead of answering individually over and over again, well this – Ladies and Gentlemen – is that post!
Hair
No one touches my hair these days except for Mr. Nik Tunstell at Joseph Kramer Hair Salon in Stillorgan. He’s a genius with colour – any hairdresser who has ever met me has said the same thing – “your colour is amazing!”. My hair has lots of different colours in it naturally, has done since the day I was born (the Nurses nicknamed me “The Baby With The Highlights”), other hairdressers would try to work against these different colours, cover up everything to make it all look the same but I mean really, who wants that?! Not me, and not Nik either, he works in tandem with them and by doing so, he enhances my hair’s natural colour.
Nails
My favourite place should come as absolutely no surprise to regular readers, as it’s previously been mentioned here, here and MANY times on my Instagram stories – it’s Mink Hand and Foot Spa in Ballsbridge. Everything about this place is just so right, from the comfortable chairs to the amazing neck and shoulder massages, the music, the coffee and the nail work itself. It may be a higher price point than some are willing to pay, but for me, it’s my one and only and if you can afford it, you will never leave feeling short changed, you definitely get your money’s worth!
Tan
I have tanned once in the last 6 years (no joke!) but I have to say, Carter Beauty Blackrock was recommended to me by a friend of a friend who – I genuinely – just thought was that skin tone naturally until she very kindly shared her secret with me along with a blazingly high recommendation. After experiencing a lot of different spray tans in my youth (<- I can literally hear my Mother’s eyes rolling from here!) I can tell you that Carter Beauty is where it’s at, they do a brilliant spray tan and I will 100% be visiting again closer to Christmas for a bit of that”Winter sun” glow to go along with a glitzy gúna and a pillar box red lippy which are of course, my Holiday Season staples!
Spa
Espa at Powerscourt Hotel. It smells incredible the moment you walk through the doors, the treatments are wonderful and I have actually know 3 different women who have worked for them which reiterates to me how highly qualified their beauticians are (seeing as I know all the training my friends went through!). I have had massages, facials, scrubs and more in Espa over the years and there is a reason why I keep going back and it’s not just for the scoop of sorbet afterwards (although I must admit, it certainly helps!).
Brunch
Ok, so not a beauty thing, but it is another frequently asked question so I thought I’d throw it in as an extra here for good measure!! There are so many great brunch spots to choose from in Dublin now-a-days, but if I HAD to select just one to go to for brunch this second, It’d have to be Balfes in The Westbury Hotel. The food is always delicious, the place looks beautiful (great for those of you who love a photo for “the gram”) and the staff are amazing – they take such good care of each and every guest who crosses their threshold.
Have I left out any of your favourite beauty (or brunch!) spots? Let me know in the comments below!
