Those of you who have been readers here for some time will remember this recipe and as it was such a hit, I decided to share a new way to enjoy these delish snacks!
Recently I’ve been crazy CRAZYYYY busy with acting class two nights a week, a creative writing class once a week, some part-time admin work and my own admin (searching for acting jobs, submitting myself or having my agent submit me for castings and then going to those castings etc…) so on particularly busy days, I grab two of these in the morning and they tide me over when a snack-attack hits (which saves me from reaching for that tantalising choccie bar or a packet of crisps!)
INGREDIENTS
6 Dates
1 Handful of fresh raspberries
100g Oats
1 serving Protein Powder (I use this one)
Splash of Milk
1 tbsp Ground Almonds
1 tsp Maca Powder
1 tbsp Cocoa Powder
1 tsp Chai Seeds
2 tbsp Chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
Slice and pit the dates
Blitz the dates with your raspberries and splash of milk until you’ve a loose paste
put all your dry ingredients in a bowl and slowly mix in your raspberry and date paste until combined
Dust an airtight container with icing sugar and then one by one – once rolled – add the balls into it and place into the fridge for several hours
Kept in their container in the fridge, these will be good to eat for 10 days. The sharp raspberry flavour mixed in with the sweet chocolate is just divine – no they are not as healthy as this version BUT – we do need a bit of a treat sometimes and this is still a better option than that bag of crisps we were eyeing earlier…
