Planning dates is difficult, whether you are married or not, whether you have kids or not, it’s just difficult because there’s always something else that takes precedence, family, work, catching up with old friends etc… etc… we are all guilty of it and with the weather turning, so too can our mood – so to combat this knee jerk reaction toward hibernating tendencies – I’ve come up with 20 easy dates that I intend on working my way through with Himself over these next few months and I think you should too!
.) Take a walk together
.) Bake something together (and then eat it with a fork each – just dig right in – no slicing allowed!)
.) Go to the cinema
.) Have a coffee date
.) Go for a drink-drink
.) Get an ice-cream cone together
.) Have a picnic (indoors or if you time it well weather wise – outdoors! French baguette, paté, strawberries and a crisp Rosé)
.) Listen to an episode of a podcast together (if it’s a series this could be something you could listen to regularly)
.) Culture date! Head to a museum or a gallery and peruse to your hearts content
.) Go out to dinner somewhere new
.) Play crazy golf – even if you like proper golf – sometimes getting back to “play” (in the true sense of the word) does a person the world of good!
.) Browse an auctioneers or antiques shop together and choose pieces for your future home – or imaginary mansion!
.) Go Dancing
.) Enjoy live music together – whether it’s a concert, a festival, a young (slightly rubbish) band in a park or letting Uncle Ollie play that one song he knows on guitar
.) PUB QUIZ!! (no YOU’RE competitive!!)
.) Go Bowling
.) Make brunch for each other (when we do this, I bake a fresh loaf of bread and Himself cooks up some sausages and rashers)
.) Head to the theatre, watch a matinee and discuss it over a long boozy lunch afterwards *boozy bit optional, but sure, why wouldn’t you!
.) Go on a brewery tour
.) Visit a market and buy fresh doughnuts and fresh flowers, a winning combination! (if it’s freezing maybe grab a coffee too!)
Remember, the fancy dates are amazing – but sometimes the quick drink or random decision to go bowling dates can be even better!
Oh I love the brunch idea!! SO fun and I’m such a foodie, defo going to do this at the weekend, Chloe x
