The Cheeky Pup

On one of our last days in Portugal, we decided to go to the local Irish Bar (oh yes we did!)

We stopped in for lunch and it was like Pinterest had manifested itself in pub form – the interiors were stunning, greenery, dusty pink stools and cocktails on tap (you know what I mean!)

There is a large inside as well as an outside but with beautiful surroundings such as these, we of course, opted to sit on the terrace.

The menu is petite but perfectly formed and it didn’t take long before we were all ready to order

First up were the drinks, champers for Mom, Himself had a beer and I opted for their Passion Fruit Martini – which was dangerously tasty and drinkable, it was basically a Solero in drink form and it was NOM!

^ COULDN’T LOVE HIM MORE!!

For mains, Mom opted for the Piri Piri Chicken and Himself went for the Cheeky Club Sandwich. Both were very good, although Mom could’ve done with a little more chicken on the bones and Himself would have preferred an actual plate – not a fan of the snazzy wooden board – bless him!

I went for The Cheeky Pup Cheeseburger – anything that has the restaurants name in the title, is surely what they’re most proud of/is a bit of a signature dish – so I opted for that for that reason

I really enjoyed it, it was juicy and full of flavour, I could’ve done without the salad – it looked very pretty on the plate, but once I’d finished the burger and half the chips, I had a very full tum – it’s always unfortunate to see waste, but the portion sizing for me anyway, was a little on the large size. I’m not sure the photos really do it justice as to how large it was – like – I actually did very well finishing even as much as I did!!

All in all, I would recommend The Cheeky Pup to anyone who is going to be spending time in the area, especially for lunch as it’s super relaxed and a very beautiful space. I’m sure it’s just as gorgeous for dinner, but I’ve never been – next time!

Find more details here, in my experience there’s no need to book at lunchtime, just rock up!

The interior is eye refreshing, calming and makes you feel that you had a glimpse of heaven. What I truly love about the place is how the sunlight was maximized and used as the main source of lighting. This place rocks.
