When invited to a VIP evening at Harvey Nichols Dundrum, you don’t think about it, you just grab a buddy and head straight there!
Which is exactly what I did when the 1878 club came a-calling. Claire-Louise and I arrived bang on time and were greeted by friendly, prosecco wielding staff who pointed us toward the menu for the evening of which we could choose any/or all (time dependant!) to experience
Whilst perusing the extensive menu, we nibbled on some canapés
and delighted in the stunning music which provided a classical take on popular tunes throughout the evening – very, VERY talented folk!
We both agreed that the first up had to be the Creme de la Mer facial
The woman on the night was fab, very chatty and informative and clearly loved her job. She gave us both an “eye freshen” instead of the facial so that we could keep our make up on and made up the time with hand and arm massages – a winning combo
I was a little disappointed that at the end of our treatment this mystical “Deluxe Gift Bag” never actually materialised, instead we were handed a card and told to “Call and book in for a facial”, I’m sure it would be nice, but as it happens in the middle of a shop, I’m not sure how relaxing it would be to have people staring at you getting a beauty treatment and I would have much rather taken home some samples in a deluxe gift bag than have the card – although perhaps they were banking on us not taking them up on the offer of the facial….?
We pushed on and got our brows mapped at Benefit which was hugely rewarding and both of us walked away with tips, tricks and new products!
Our last stop was at Environ, where we took turns having our skin mapped with their dedicated machine and learned all about what we should be doing (or not doing) moving forward to keep our skin at it’s best. I purchased their eye gel and so far I have been delirious with the results!
