Recently I had the absolute pleasure to visit Burberry’s flagship store on Regent Street, which is also the home of their very own café, Thomas’s
Upon arrival, it appeared I stressed everyone out by being 10mins early for my reservation, our table wasn’t quite ready, which I was fine with – but oh goodness – they were not, major panics all round!
I was escorted up a beautiful, winding staircase
where I could see, a tucked away private room, perfect for any of you wanting to plan a little soirée!
and perched at the bar, drank some ice cold water and after being told my table would be ready soon, I desperately tried to ignore the conversation they then had right next to me, about which of them would draw the short straw and tell the people currently seated at my table that they had outstayed their welcome and had to leave…
Eventually, my friend and I were brought to our new table
where we settled in to peruse the menus
What I loved about both menus was that they were short, sweet and to the point, no overloading of options here, just the best – simple as that!
It was lunch time, but we decided the afternoon tea at Burberry’s Thomas’s Café looked so good, that we just had to give it a try!
Thankfully we decided to share one serving of afternoon tea because honestly, if we’d both ordered one, we never would have got through all the deliciousness and there would’ve been so much wasted
Sarah had the cuppa that came with the afternoon tea and I ordered a black coffee
The main event arrived and it was absolutely beautiful
the sandwich choices were so tasty, rare beef with horse raddish, cucumber, salmon and egg and cress. However, Sarah and I are apparently far more awkward than we realised, the salmon was out for her and egg and cress was out for me, so we were down to two – but they were a great two and we were happy out with the refills!
Dress (old, similar) | Sunglasses | Shoes (old, similar)
On the cakes tier, we had (from left to right), lemon drizzle, blackberry marshmallow, french fancy, the most decadent and rich millionaire shortbread ever – yum!! and a raspberry cream tart.
Absolutely excellent omnomnom!!
Now pause here for a moment, check out the ring below, it’s a stunning aquamarine, surrounded by diamonds set in white gold and made by my super talented friend
I was totally blown away! She creates these pieces on request, if any of you are looking for a one of a kind piece, Sarah is your gal, check out more here
Next up, sumptuous scones accompanied by Thomas’s homemade jam
After the last morsel was devoured, we headed back down the winding staircase,
out onto the street and found ourselves being swept up with the usual hustle and bustle of London in the blink of an eye
We both thoroughly enjoyed Thomas’s and would highly recommend it, I for one will be booking in future meetings there whenever possible!!
Such a lovely place! The pictures of the sweets made me hungry 🙂
