On our final morning, we walked up to the clubhouse to indulge in their buffet breakfast
which was totally and utterly nom!
Afterwards, we went for a stroll and then chilled by the pool at the villa, we read a few more chapters of our summer reads and then hopped into the pool for a dip to cool down
which was made infinitely better by the inclusion of Alfonso The Flamingo (which I have no doubt were dotted ALLL over the world in their thousands this Summer – thank you Primark).
Later on, Mom and I gathered up a few things and drove to The Conrad Hotel for a little visit to the Spa
We explored their indoor and outdoor pools, their Tropical Showers, the list was almost endless – it’s a very big spa!
Before our appointments, we showered, robed up and settled ourselves in The Elixir Lounge waiting to be collected, my favourite part of the this spa is the fact that you can have your massage outdoors (all curtains are pulled before you lie down on the massage table to give you some privacy!)
I’ve been to the Conrad’s Spa on multiple occasions and it’s always been fantastic, but sadly, on this particular occasion, it was not a good experience. The therapist was rushing, tried to change what my Mom had pre-booked (a month before we arrived) for me and then said it was my fault the treatment didn’t go to plan because I’d wanted to adhere to the original booking…?
When I explained my experience at check out, we were offered a 20% discount on my treatment and were apologised to, as that was not normal etiquette for their staff, which we appreciated. I would go back as I do think that this was an isolated incident but it was just such a shame.
The day picked up majorly that evening when we went to one of our families favourite restaurants in the area Restaurante Pequeno Mundo
Which I have most definitely written about before but seeing as we largely got different dishes, I’m going to chat about it again – also it’s awesome!!
For starters we had, the Crab Soup
Vegetarian Samosas,
and Vegetarian Cannelloni, all of which were just stunningly yum!
Our mains were, the Vegetable Curry
Duck with poached pear
and an incredibly delicious, if not a little large, Beef Wellington!
Half way through our meal, we were visited by a beautiful local lady who apparently pops by for a little while each evening, can you spot her? She’s pretty good at the oul camouflaging!
And just when we thought we were done….we ordered dessert! First was the Praline dish
and then Mom and I shared the Chef’s taster plate, just delicious! A completely wonderful evening to finish off our time in Portugal
Those of you who follow me on Instagram and Twitter will know this already, but for anyone who doesn’t (sadface), I’ve started my own YouTube channel!! I would love you to subscribe and follow along on my new venture.
The first video I created tracks our final day in Portugal, give it a watch and let me know what you think!
