The lake is one of my favourite places to visit in Quinta, especially during the day where you can watch people bobbing about in pedalos, on top of wind surfing boards and see fish leaping up out of the water, just to say hi and of course, for their restaurants sumptuous lunch!
But before I launch us into the delicious foodage, lets do the outfit bit shall we?! Honestly, it was so incredibly hot that day, so hair wise, I whacked it up into this super easy passby-twist, which I thought was pretty standard but I had lots of questions coming my way on how I did it, so that was nice!
This yellow jumpsuit was one of my favourite new pieces this summer, I bought it here a couple of weeks before we went away and wasn’t at all surprised that it was totally gone by the time we were actually in Portugal!
Anyone who follows me on Instagram will know I’m a little bit in love with these sunnies, the gold filigree is so delicate and they fit right in with this outfit, I also can’t get enough of wearing them with soft jeans, a white tee and London phone-box red lips, for a more, dressed down look! Another wardrobe obsession is my Mini Lily, previously see here, here and here!
Now, my favourite part of any outfit – the shoes! I bought these patented fuchsia beauties last year whilst we were on Honeymoon, I absolutely adore them! They’ve had a good few outings on longer days and I can tell you, they are one of the comfiest pairs I’ve ever owned. Never rubbed or needed breaking in, they were perfect from the off!
After having explored a bit and gotten reacquainted with the stunning views the lake has to offer, we settled in for the main event. Lunch! As always at Restaurante Casa Do Lago, our meal started off with gorgeous, fresh, (still warm) bread rolls
With cool butter and a fish paste that Himself tells me was very tasty
but Mom and I opted for some bubbles instead!!
Our little group decided to skip starters and headed straight for mains instead. The first to arrive was Himself’s, aptly named, “Fish & Chips”. Perfectly battered cod and another dipping sauce which was a big winner and apparently not for sharing….!
Next up was Mom’s Chicken Piri-Piri, which looked utterly scrumptious!
and then mine and Dad’s, both having ordered the Fillet Steak. It was cooked to absolute perfection and just the right portion size for me but I reckon my Daddy could’ve done with more on his plate, so it was lucky there were some veg and fries lurking about for him to enjoy too!
Whilst the others had normal fries – which I’m sure were yum – I opted for the sweet potatoe fries…omnomnomnom so good!!!!!!! Really though, you can’t go wrong with the food at Casa Do Lago, everything is always yum!
I was stuffed to the brim so didn’t order a dessert and just as well, because the dessert portion sizes were insane!!
A piled high Black forest Eton Mess
Sorbet served on a bed of crushed nuts
and the single largest serving of banoffie pie any of us had ever clapped eyes on!
But, once again all were YUUUUUM!!!!!
After lunch we strolled back to the car and once back at the villa we lay by the pool, shaded by massive umbrellas, sipped summery drinks and slipped seamlessly between a good snooze and a good book, so all in all, a wonderful day!
I love your shoes <3
