I was introduced to this spot a little while ago by Sarah when we met up for one of our (almost weekly) catch up lunches
As it’s name suggests, this is an ice cream parlour but they also do pastries, sandwiches, pancakes and lots more
We trawled through the menu and finally decided to try out one of the “Fortnum Favourites” – a savoury, scones, a dessert and tea – sounded pretty perfect to us!
To start, I had a pot of green tea which arrived in the sweetest little teapot twin set
along with an afternoon tea stand with everything else
For savoury, we both chose the Welsh / Elegant Rarebit (which had to be explained to me was a posh cheese toastie, definitely not an Irish thing!). It was nice but I wouldn’t get it again to be honest – I had to pat it with tissue – it was far too greasy for me
Next was the scones which, with clotted cream and jam were utterly delicious and very moreish!
Finally, we rounded things off with an excellent macaron, stacked high with a generous blob of filling that was begging to be flattened and we happily obliged!
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and both vowed to come back to make a dent in their extensive ice cream selection! What about you guys, have you been? Any particular flavour ice cream I have to try the next time I’m there? Let me know in the comments below!
