The big day for Sarah and Harry was finally here! Us Bridesmaids were to arrive in The Augustus Hotel‘s private villa first thing in the morning where we would spend the day clinking bubbles with the Bride, being pampered, preened and even have time for a little sunbathing, all in preparation for the ceremony starting at 5:30pm
It’s a hard life really isn’t it…?!
All the Bridesmaids got on like a house on fire so having the day together really was fantastic
The Bride had organised for our hair to be looked after by the fabulous Sharon Roberts. This woman is a superstar, her character is so infectious, it makes everyone feel totally relaxed while in her incredibly capable hands!
With the heat that was forecast, we all knew an updo was a must, each Bridesmaid was to choose a different look and I was so chuffed with how mine turned out
Along with our Italian make up artists, the photographers turned up for some impromptu “getting ready shots” too. We laughed our way through it and did our best to pretend they weren’t there!
Soon, it was time to get the Bride to the church – on time!
The mass went very well and the Cathedral was just stunning. Back outside, the sun had slipped a little in the sky so the Cathedral steps were bathed in sunlight – pretty glorious it has to be said!
Before we were bustled back into the wedding cars, we managed to sneak in a cheeky pint, well, I had a water, so I wasn’t exactly the greatest drinking companion, but I was SO thirsty – I mean seriously,
It.Was.ROASTING!
I loved our bouquets, but then again, you all know that my affection for peonies runs deep!
The reception took place on the beach, so at around 7pm, off we all trundled!
Himself and I decided to sign the guest book first (it’s always our first port of call, otherwise we’ll forget to do it!), because of this, more often than not, we end up being on the first page.
Like in this case – literally – the first! I loved their Tiffany Blue guest book, absolutely gorgeous leather with creamy, thick pages. As one of the Bridesmaids, I did my best to get people to go sign it, hopefully they got lots of messages!
We had a little sit and sipped a very tasty glass of wine while the sun slipped lower and lower in the sky
Hannah and I discovered the photo booth prop box early on…
I had a quick peek into the dining room and it was laid out beautifully, the centrepieces were stunning
Sarahs dress was a gorgeous creation by Suzanne Neville, she looked pheonomenal!
Like at the cocktail party the night before, every inch of the reception had Sarah’s touch, right down to the glass tumblers filled with sand, a tea light and little shells – she had thought of everything!
Just before dinner, Himself and I took a stroll down to the sea front
We couldn’t take in enough of what we were seeing, behind us were the stunning alpes and infront of us was the calm ocean, shimmering pink (thanks to the finally setting sun)
Once back at the reception, we tucked into our starter, a buffet table laid with a vast array of food, without a doubt if people had been told “this is it”, no one would’ve batted an eyelid because there was – again – SO MUCH FOOD!
Strawberry belini’s were the drink of choice for the majority of the younger crowd before dinner, I’ve only ever had a peach belini before, so this was a welcome and refreshing change up
Soon we were moved inside for dinner. All the speeches were in advance of the meal and all were short and very sweet. The meal was lovely, but unfortunately it was just a little too dark to take any photos!
Between courses we were entertained by some amazing fireworks coming from – we think – the Champions League Final (Juventus lost to Barcelona)
After dinner, the wedding cake arrived out – look how proud they are – and rightly so!
Once the music started, the dance floor was crammed full with people, feather boas, an inflatable saxophone and lots more (all courtesy of the photo booth prop box!)
The Bride and Groom had one more surprise up their sleeves for all their guests, some fireworks of their very own on the beach
A wonderful day had by all – Here’s to the Bride & Groom!
