Pequeno Mundo

The Restaurants – wow!

We went to a few while on the holiday and really, they were just amazing! As you already know we had a lovely lunch in Casa do Logo but another gem we are repeat customers at is Restaurante Pequeno Mundo

Pequeno Mundo

This is Joaquim Vilela, the man in charge, front man extravaganza, he’s far smilier in person than this picture would have you know, a soft spoken gent with the memory of an elephant!

When you arrive you get brought out to their garden for a drink and to peruse their menu. Surrounded by bougainvillea you order drinks and your meal and are then quickly swept away to your table

It’s all about presentation here, more glasses to drink from than you can shake a stick at! For starters I began with the most amazing mussel soup – look at that pastry topping!

Portugal

The Parentals both had the warm goats cheese tart and himself had the scallops. All of which plunged our conversation into a cacophony of yummy noises!

For mains I had a very tasty fillet steak with peppercorn sauce (held inside the mushroom!!)

Portugal

the Parentals had the beef chateaubriand with bernaise sauce for two (which was gorgeous)

Portugal

and himself had the most amazing looking dish of us all – king prawn with mango curry – and it.was.good!

For dessert

I had the crepe suzette, it had such a kick of flavour, I sped through it at a rate of knots! Himself had sorbet and the Parentals shared the  sweet plate, which is basically a mini version of everything on the dessert menu – love that raspberry tower! These pics are all quite dark, as we do as the Portuguese do, so this meal was a late affair!

All in all, a very tasty meal!
